In high school, Franque Bains would travel at every opportunity and a pattern emerged early on. She would never come back with many pictures or souvenirs. Instead, she would come back with new friends and their stories. That’s carried into her adulthood. She still travels a lot. She still forgets to take pictures. However, through these travels, she has come to learn that people across the world, across genders, across cultures stop being strangers when they open up and share about their lives. That’s the magic that keeps people connected and happy – nurturing relationships and sharing.
Through this love of connection, Franque writes and performs short stories and poetry. She currently resides in Salt Lake City and continues to create stories to write and to tell.
