Time to beat the drums and enjoy the anticipation of a 10th Story Crossroads theme reveal as part of the A to Z Blog Challenge (http://www.a-to-zchallenge.com) that happens throughout the month of April. These are 26 postings for each of the letters of the alphabet (with rest on Sundays). We accept the challenge…again.

THEME: Fantastic Females in Folk & Fairy Tales
We are women…or at least the whole Story Crossroads Board are women at this time. We witness many wonderful women making a difference in the world. Perhaps some were even inspired by folk and fairy tale characters. While there is the “damsel in distress” phrase out there, we want to blow that out of the waters, beyond the dragon’s mouth, and miles away from any tower.
We are excited to share who we feel can be an inspiration for today through stories that are hundreds or even centuries old.
We do love men, too. Though, there are plenty of stories that feature men heroes. It’s time for female heroines to shine up the weapons of wit, warmth, and…wackiness. Yes, really. See what we mean soon.
So no matter your gender, this will be a journey full of adventures. Join us starting April 1, 2024.
As for our past A to Z Challenges…
While you enjoy this blog, Story Crossroads celebrates the hybrid summit & festival on May 13-16, 2024 – yes, in-person and virtual – and would be honored for you to join us. Explore the schedule and register here: http://www.storycrossroads.org/Festival
Thanks to funding from National Endowment for the Arts; National Endowment for the Humanities; Western States Arts Federation; Utah Division of Arts and Museums/Utah Legislature; Utah Humanities; City of Murray; Zoo, Arts & Parks (ZAP) of Salt Lake County; Salt Lake City Arts Council; and 80+ businesses and individuals.

Stopping in to take a look at your theme and wish you a happy March and a wonderful April. Can’t wait to read more during April! ♥
Looks like you are lucky last on the list. I’ll be sure to check in on your posts about Fantastic Females!
Looking forward to following you again this year. As a fellow storyteller I’m always looking for new stories to lessen and pass on.
Sounds like an interesting theme! Good luck.

I enjoy folk and fairytales, so I’m looking forward to seeing your posts and learning about specific female leads!
Love it! I’m always up for a good ‘mythic’ challenge! 🙂
