Ted grew up in Holladay, Utah. Essentially the purple sheep of the family, he began telling stories in high school, with The Wizard of Oz as his longtime favorite.
He lives in Providence, Utah with Meg, his wife; Reddington, their dog; and ten chickens. Ted and Meg have three children and are soon to welcome their twelfth grandchild. Meg is the MEG of their Nutmeg Company—so naturally, Ted is the NUT. Ted has one published book, My Boy Jesus: Joseph’s Story, illustrated by Meg, and is currently in the process of publishing two more: Baloney Barney and Chronicles of a Shepherd.
Professionally, Ted works for the accounting firm Gibbons & Associates, but storytelling is his true passion and life’s breath. He has shared stories with church groups, family gatherings, assisted living centers, schools, and festivals including the Timpanogos Storytelling Festival, Cache Storytelling Festival, Weber State Storytelling Festival, Story Crossroads Festival, and Logan Ghost Tours, among many others.
Ted’s mind is constantly observing life, weaving connections, and creating stories. Most of his story library lives in the compartments of his imagination and is shared orally. Even his own children marvel at where his connections and tales come from—though they always love the results.
Some of his favorite stories to tell include Baloney Barney, The Winter Wolf, Nurse June, The Wizard of Oz, The Headless Woman, Sir Izaak Noodle, What Women Most Desire, The Ugly Elfling, and many more.
Prepare to laugh, cry, scream—and be deeply touched.
