Liz Weir, MBE is an Irish storyteller with an international reputation. She has been telling stories for five decades and has shared her stories on five continents. She has been a featured storyteller at major international festivals including the National Storytelling Festival USA and has presented at the Australian Storytelling Conference in 2023 and the NSN Conference in 2024. Liz tells stories with people of all ages and abilities and specializes in working with those living with dementia. Having been Children’s Librarian for the City of Belfast, her experience has demonstrated the power of storytelling to assist in conflict resolution. With fifty years of experience, she now spends a lot of time facilitating workshops and mentoring new storytellers. She was awarded an MBE in 2019 for her service to the arts and to education. Liz is the director of the Glens Storytelling Festival and is Storyteller in Residence for Libraries NI under the Armstrong Storytelling Trust.
