Mark Gollaher is a founding member of the Olympus Chapter of the Utah Storytelling Guild. He has performed at numerous venues throughout Utah and Idaho including First night, the Vernal and Weber State University Storytelling Festivals, The Scandinavian Festival, the Park City Balloon Festival, and many years at the Timpanogos Storytelling Festival. He was chosen by the Young Audiences and Arts Inc. organizations to perform throughout the valley at school assemblies, has toured libraries and schools with his “Bit O’ Blarney” Irish tales and is the featured entertainer at countless parties and events.
Mark has also toured with the Utah symphony narrating “Peter and the Wolf” and appeared as their guest storyteller for several Lollipops concerts at Abravanel Hall. As a professional actor, Mark has appeared at most of the major theatres in Utah. Some of his most memorable roles are Rochester in “Jane Eyre,” Lumiere in “Beauty and the Beast,” Dracula in Neil LaBute’s “Dracula,” Hamlet in “Hamlet,” Hook in “Peter Pan,” and Prof. Harold Hill in “The Music Man.” Mark’s other interests have led him to parallel careers as a free-lance artist and writer. He has worked as a layout artist for several animated series, authored and illustrated four beginning reading books and wrote, directed and performed two concert dramas based on Beethoven and Brahms for the Utah Symphony. Currently, Mark is working as Artistic Director for Fordham Books illustrating their “Little Tracker” book series and creating the board games, cards games and puzzles that go with them.
