Paul Laurence Dunbar

Paul Laurence Dunbar

Known as The Father of the Spoken Word Movement or The American Shakespeare, Paul Laurence Dunbar influences so many educators, poets, spoken word artists, and storytellers today. All of us, at one point or another, have come upon his works.

Voices of Dunbar
virtual performance

We look forward to Saturday, June 11, 2022 from 4:00pm-6:00pm Eastern Time when you can honor Paul Laurence Dunbar through performing his works through Zoom.

Oni Lasana will be the emcee while the Zoom used will be hosted by Artists Standing Strong Together. Yet, Story Crossroads will still partner to spread the word and other supports in this venture.

Attendees of the February 12, 2022 workshop with Oni Lasana can qualify for performing at “Voices of Dunbar.” Though, anyone can register and attend the free virtual performance in partnership with Artists Standing Strong Together and Story Crossroads. We also thank The Dunbar Commemorative Project (#Dunbar150).

Email with any comments and/or questions.

Thanks to the virtual workshop presented by Oni Lasana, we know more about him and wished to put her handout as well as some opportunities here.
