This “Golden Umbrella” story is found with 21 other Nepalese stories. I ordered the book and had hoped it would come in time…but it was “U”nfair (see what I did there?) and will likely arrive one day too late. So…here is a picture to give a hint of this story. The summary is to be updated once the book is actually received. Though, if you wish to discover the mystery or purchase it, the link below will guide. “u.” (Ha!)
Original 50-word-or-less summary before book arrived:
Prince shares golden umbrella. Lady smiles. Conflict comes upon the scene. Then more things happen. Prediction: happy ending with probably wedding of Prince and Lady.
Actual 50-word-or-less summary after book arrived:
Tuhuri’s Father remarried. Rooster became best friend. Step-mother demanded rooster be eaten. Tuhuri buried rooster bones, golden umbrella grew from them. People traveled to see it. No one could pull umbrella out. Prince fell for Tuhuri (and umbrella). She gave umbrella to him. Married. Step-family plotted. Mistaken identity discovered. Happiness.
