K is for Golden Key–A to Z Blog Challenge

We are pleased to participate in the A to Z Blog Challenge (  The Story Crossroads theme for this year is Golden…And All Things That Glimmer.  Each post highlights golden items from a folktale from around the world. Each time you have to wonder, is something that is golden a blessing, a curse, or both?

What has inspired all this gold?–The Golden Spike with the 150th Transcontinental Railroad and the Spike 150 Grant for this year’s Story Crossroads Festival.

Golden Key-

I lose my keys all over the place. Perhaps I would be better at it if they were made out of gold. Delight in this classic Brothers Grimm tale.

Brothers Grimm –

50-word-or-less summary:

Boy is cold in the snow. He goes for firewood. He decided it best to have a fire outside. He swept away the snow. He found a golden key. He then found a lock. The key fits…to a chest. But the treasures inside? Not for us to know.

Please share in the comments…or anything on your mind.
